Today Mr. John was absent so we postpone till tomorrow. I was a bit relieved since i didn't had to do the quiz today. I wasn't that prepared so i was kind of happy. So we revise the Music Notation Quiz than we played the Angklung. It was pretty fun. The whole class played together. We played an Indonesian song. I was the B Note angklung. We lost track of time and end up skipping music class but overall i had a great time today's session.

September 11 2012,

Today we practice for the Music Notation Quiz Tomorrow. I'm really afraid and unprepared.  But I did my best and i was able to understand the lesson clearly. By the end of music theory class I feel somewhat prepared. Than we had an interesting music class. We played the C Major Scale together. This was not that pretty and Eun Joo laugh at my inability to do a synchronize performance with Nigel, Jason Riady and Cornelius. I think i should practice more so i can catch up with them. So that next time it can be an awesome performance.

6th September 2012,

Guess what. We had a revision today for our quiz about notation. I'm kind of struggled again. I did well in the first question as soon as we get into the other minor scales i was lost. It was open book but than i decide not since i want to challenge myself. In the end i got Nigel help. He thought me about the things and an easy way to do it a pattern and other things. When it's times up i was only 50% done but all correct. So i just need to practice harder and i can get perfect. Than there was music class. I was prepared and excited to play my song. Also i bought new strings. So that Mr. Sadrakh can fix my A String. Which he did. So when it was my turn I played my C Major Scale. I Did it well and Mr. Sadrakh approved. So than I have to play my next song which is Etude. Which I'm looking forward too.

5th September 2012,

We were informed by Mr.John that there was a Quiz on Notation at Tuesday. Though with some smooth negotiation it became on Wednesday which is 12th September 2012. So we started revising all of the major and minor scales, Triads, 7th Cords and Inversion. I was able to understand the lesson but i got confused in the Inversion. Luckily i became an Inquirer and ask the teacher about it. It was a relieved Mr. John thought me well and i was able to understand the whole lesson completely. Than we had Music class. Well my A String for cello break. So it was not a pleasant class. I had slightly disappoint Mr. Sadrakh since my C Major scale didn't do so well. It was because i was shy and also i was afraid that it would break and hurt me. So in the end i got send out. I had to practice by myself. I felt like a street cellist. I think since i was sent out i had a drive to improve myself thus making my performance better and I'm excited to show my song to Mr. Sadrakh.

September 4 2012,

Today I learned about the C Major 7th Chord and It's inversions. At first i was struggling and I can't understand but with the help of Mr. John (my music theory teacher) i was able to understand the lesson. In the music instruments class Mr. Sadrakh was absent. Mr. Sadrakh is the violin and cello teacher also the supervisor, coordinator and teacher of string ensemble ( which i used to join ). Of course we still practice the songs. I did my C Major scale 2 Octaves and Etude.

Hello there. My name is Jason Binar. This is my new music blog. The only purpose of this blog is to do a reflection about what happened in Music class today ( In my school Binus International School Simprug ). I will discuss about what i learn in my Music Theory and Instrument class. Than i will also post a weekly video of me practicing my instrument. Which is cello in this case.
